Solvy
Details

Over recent months we have received enquiries regarding a new
idea to embroidery known as water soluble film.
Several years ago we
saw the potential for this product and as a result of extensive
research into various types of film, we introduced our own water
soluble product known as Solvy.
Applied on top of the
embroidery, Solvy has proven invaluable to embroiderers trying to
improve on the quality of their designs when embroidering:
Solvy Uses:
Water soluble foil
designed to improve embroideries on difficult fabrics.
- Knitwear:
Prevents disappearance of stitches within the knit. Can be completely
removed after embroidering, maintaining elasticity of knitwear.
- Terry cloth:
Prevents loops from raising up during embroidery.
- Detailed designs:
Applied on top of embroidery, supports all stitches for more complicated
designs with fine detailing. More supportive than cloth, always
giving high quality finish.
- Exceptions
On velour, silk & corduroy use thermogaze (see
thermogaze sheet).
Solvy is simple to use
requiring no special adjustment to either fabric or machinery. Being
water soluble, it can be easily and completely removed after embroidering.
Solvy also has the advantage
of not clinging to itself when laid in pre-cut pieces which makes
a significant improvement to the speed of framing up production.
Solvy has been available
for several years and consequently is a well-tried and tested product
giving valuable assistance to embroiderers and is just one of many
innovative ideas being promoted by G S UK Limited.
Solvy is available
from stock in the following sizes:
- Per metre - 100cm
x 100cm
- Per roll - 100cm x
100m
